Maren Morris is opening up about an unsettling experience that happened during her Dreamsicle tour stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ahead of her Friday night (Aug. 22) show, the country-pop star revealed on Instagram that a fan had inappropriately grabbed her while she was greeting fans at the meet-and-greet.

“Hi y’all. Tonight’s show was so fun, but someone grabbed my ass during the meet-and-greet before the show,” Morris wrote on her Instagram Stories. She continued with a message that balanced caution with positivity: “I’m going to continue them because one person shouldn’t ruin it for everyone, but please know I’m there to connect, share, hug, all the things but please don’t override someone’s personal space. Love you.”

Despite the incident, Morris remained in high spirits throughout the night. She shared behind-the-scenes videos showing her chatting with fans and signing autographs shortly before taking the stage.

On Instagram, she posted photos from the concert, including shots of herself in a stunning black feathered dress and praised the sold-out crowd.

“Thank you for a beautiful garden venue, a perfect sunset and for selling the damn show out,” she captioned the snaps. “We can’t wait to come back.”

Fans quickly voiced their support for the singer, reminding each other of the importance of respecting artists’ personal boundaries. Many noted that moments like meet-and-greets are meant to be celebratory experiences for both fans and performers, and crossing that line is unacceptable. In 2025, fans are increasingly aware of the need to treat celebrities as people first – individuals who deserve safety, dignity, and respect.

Morris has been candid about her life over the past few years. Her latest album, Dreamsicle, was released earlier this year and explores the grief, anger, and vulnerability she experienced following her 2023 split from ex-husband Ryan Hurd.

In interviews, she emphasized that the record isn’t about the relationship itself, but about processing the emotions afterward and reconnecting with herself and her friends. The singer also shared that she and Hurd, who share their 5-year-old son Hayes, are on amicable terms.

Since her divorce, Morris has publicly embraced her bisexuality, coming out during Pride Month in June 2024. She has also been linked to “Perfect Match” alum Justin Assada, though her current relationship status remains private.

This incident serves as a stark reminder for fans: celebrities are people who deserve the same respect and personal space anyone else would expect. While meet-and-greets offer a chance to connect with favorite artists, crossing boundaries is never acceptable. Morris’s handling of the situation – remaining positive while setting clear limits – has earned her even more admiration from fans, who are rallying to ensure that her concerts remain safe, fun, and memorable for everyone involved.
