The legal battle between It Ends With Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is taking a dramatic new turn, and fans are now questioning everything.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Lively has officially filed to drop two claims that she suffered from "intentional infliction of emotional distress" and "negligent infliction of emotional distress."

The move comes after Baldoni’s legal team requested access to Lively’s medical and mental health records – evidence they argued was crucial to backing up the claims she originally filed

However, instead of handing over the documents, Lively’s legal team opted to withdraw the claims altogether – a decision that has sparked widespread discussion on the internet.

“Instead of complying with the Medical RFPs, Ms. Lively’s counsel recently advised us, in writing, that Ms. Lively is withdrawing her [infliction of emotional distress] claims,” Baldoni’s team said in a filing.

Lively’s lawyers insist it’s all part of routine litigation strategy.

“We are doing what trial lawyers do: preparing our case for trial by streamlining and focusing it,” her team told Page Six, accusing Baldoni’s camp of turning the situation into a press stunt. “The Baldoni-Wayfarer strategy of filing retaliatory claims has exposed them to expansive new damages claims under California law, rendering certain of Ms. Lively’s original claims no longer necessary.”

They added that her other claims, including sexual harassment and retaliation, still stand.

“Ms. Lively continues to allege emotional distress, as part of numerous other claims in her lawsuit, such as sexual harassment and retaliation, a massive additional compensatory damages on all of her claims,” said the statement.

Public opinion is shifting.

Now, fans who once stood firmly behind Lively are beginning to question her motives. “If you’re going to make such intense claims, you better be prepared to back them up,” one fan posted on social media . “Dropping the emotional distress charge just makes it all look suspect.”

Baldoni, who previously filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, claims the actress is using her star power and inner circle, including best friend Taylor Swift, to sway public and legal opinion.

However, she also accused Baldoni of launching a smear campaign to destroy her reputation and claimed that her children – James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin,2 – were also “traumatized” by the drama.

The court has yet to rule on Lively’s request to dismiss the claims,  but what’s becoming increasingly evident is that fans are tuned in, and the story surrounding Hollywood’s former sweetheart may be taking a sharp turn.
